Regulars and walk-ups
Every sports club has two kinds of customers: regulars and walk-ups. Regulars are the members who show up every week — players, parents, coaches, board members. Walk-ups are guests, visiting team members, or anyone paying on the spot who probably won't be back.
Serve POS handles both. Registered members are stored in the system with a name and an optional customer group. Walk-ups get a free-text label when you open a tab for them — no registration required, no delays.
Why register your members?
Registering a member takes about 20 seconds. Once they're in the system, the bartender opens their tab with one tap on their name — no typing, no searching. Their tab history and outstanding balance are tracked automatically across every visit.
For clubs where members run a monthly balance, registration is essential: the balance carries over between evenings and the treasurer can see exactly who owes what at any point. There's no need to chase anyone down at the end of the evening — the system keeps the record.
Customer groups
If your club has multiple teams or sections — U13, U15, seniors, ladies, board members — you can organise members into customer groups. When a bartender opens a tab on a busy evening, they can filter the member list by group to find the right person in seconds.
Groups make the member list faster to navigate when you have dozens of names on screen. You can also apply a discount at group level — useful if youth players or members of a specific section always order at a reduced rate.
Persistent balances across evenings
A registered member's open tab shows up on the overview screen every time you open the app — even weeks later. The balance accumulates until the member explicitly settles it. Nothing is lost between evenings.
The Reporting screen shows every member with an outstanding balance and the exact amount they owe. This is what the treasurer uses to send reminders, collect payment at the end of the month, or reconcile the accounts.

No app required for members
Members don't need to install anything, create an account, or scan a QR code. Registration is entirely on the club's side — the bartender enters the member's name (and optionally a group) and that's it.
The member interacts with the bartender behind the bar, just like they always have. The system stays invisible to them — which is exactly how it should be.
